June 30th, 2025, marked five years since we lost Lachie — a vibrant, sport-loving young man whose passion for life continues to inspire all who knew him. To honour this anniversary, Lachie’s friends and family wanted to do something special. And what better way to celebrate Lachie’s memory than through the game he loved?
With heart and enthusiasm, the 1st XV teams of Christchurch Boys’ High, Christchurch Girls’ High, Christ’s College, Marlborough Boys’ College, Nelson College and St Bede’s are stepping up — swapping out their regular laces for our signature bright yellow Lachie’s Laces in a powerful show of solidarity.
As they take the field in their final pool matches in the Miles Toyota Premiership on Saturday 19 July, they’ll not only be playing for points, but standing for something bigger: raising awareness and encouraging others to support children with cancer.
This show of community spirit and collective kindness means so much. It helps carry Lachie’s legacy forward, spreading joy, strength and support where it’s needed most.
If you’re a supporter of a 1st XV team in the Miles Toyota Championship and would like to support your team, Lachie’s Laces and the Child Cancer Foundation by wearing a pair of bright yellow Lachie’s Laces, you can get your hands (or feet!) on Lachie’s Laces by:

2. Order online and select to collect in person
