9 Round Ferrymead are Supporting Lachie's Laces
About Lachie's Laces
Lachie’s Laces are vibrant yellow shoelaces that we’ve created in memory of Lachie Sutherland, a beautiful, bright boy who died from cancer in 2020, aged 12. Lachie was first diagnosed with stage 4, high risk neuroblastoma in January 2012. Lachie would go on to spend more than 200 nights in hospital, enduring countless rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, stem cell transplant, immunotherapy and radiation, as well as a self-funded MIBG treatment in Australia – treatment unavailable in New Zealand. He finished his treatment in 2013. But then fast forward 7 years to 2019 and his cancer returned. He began treatment immediately, but despite a valiant fight, Lachie died on June 30th, 2020.
Lachie’s Laces is a way to honour Lachie’s memory every year and support the Child Cancer Foundation and the amazing work they do. So Lace Up and help us remember Lachie.
